“There’s things we know we know

Things we know we don’t know

Things we don’t know we don’t know

And things we know that ain’t so” -el Loco Gringo

That last one will really bite you in the ass. It is a tragic observation that 90% of human knowledge falls into the last category. Most of the decisions made in life are based on false premises. Maybe that’s why the world is so screwed up. The only way to determine if a datum is a fact or a belief is to challenge it. To seek your own truth. But it’s hardly practical to challenge everything. If a false datum can negatively affect us or effect our environment, it must be challenged. A certain amount of discretion is, however, advisable. Informing you boss that he’s “full of shit” would be inadvisable (if you want to keep the job, else, go for it). It can be dangerous to be too vocal about it, sometimes you should just keep it to yourself. Challenging dogma can lead to beheadings, burning at the stake, pograms, purges, book burning and in general “gittin them there pinty heded intilechuls”. That could ruin your day. “I hate it when that happens”

The reality is justice isn’t just, democracy isn’t democratic, free trade isn’t free, equal lending isn’t equal, As with the “recent studies have shown” prefix, use of any of the feel good adjectives should throw up red flags to be checked out. Overly precise measurements are also dubious, “recent studies have shown that 23,67% of freedom fighters have not been circumcised” should send you screaming for the door. (can you picture female census workers obtaining the data from moslem terrorists?) Also quantifiers, twice does not seem as big as 100% more, nor 200%. “New job claims decreased by 240,000 is much more benign than “unemployment increased by 240,000” A radio station that broadcasts at 100 thousand micro watts is actually less powerful than your toaster.
hypostatized – to treat or regard (a concept, idea, etc.) as a distinct substance or reality.

The insane society. People believing that voting democrat or republican makes a difference. People believing that the dollar is money. People believing that wall street promotes industry. People believing that we are fighting for freedom. (that’s like fucking for virginity)

Rabbit Hole
“There are endless people who say they have found the outs. “It’s the economic system!” they say, “It’s the government!” they say, “It’s the religions!” they say. None of these things are at the root of the problem. How do I know this? Because none of these things are actually real. History has been dominated by these three systems but what do they all have in common… ?They are all faith-based belief systems.” – Information Liberation.

“Trust the quiet inner voice that tells you what to do. You hold your life in your hands, don’t entrust it to anyone else, least of all to your chosen leaders. BE YOURSELF! Any number of great men have told you that.” – Wilhelm Reich
